TITLE: Ruah
YEAR OF PRODUCTION: 2014 COUNTRY OF PRODUCTION: UK RUN TIME: 10min 40sec ASPECT RATIO: 16:9 SOURCE FORMAT: Super 16mm COLOUR : Colour SOUND: Stereo Ruah – an ancient Hebrew word meaning breath, wind and spirit. Ruah is the ephemeral moment of contact with eternity – the moment of union between spirit and matter. Employing a figurative visual language the film aspires towards a portrayal of the invisible essences, the poetics of existence. Rather than presenting ready meanings, the work aims at posing questions about The meaning, questions about the metaphysics of suffering, hope and compassion, questions about what it is to be a human. At the heart of the film is life itself – with all its infinite horizons and impenetrable waters. |
